What is the purpose of the Forum?

The Forum is a platform for exchanging information, sharing experience and working collectively. It enables the community and voluntary organisations to voice issues and concerns relating to the economic, social and cultural development of the County. The Community & Voluntary Sector is recognised as a social partner at national level and the Forum enables community groups and voluntary organisations to fulfil its role as a social partner at local level. Many organisations and agencies have consulted the Forum and sought the views of members when developing plans and new initiatives for the County. This has allowed the Forum advance ideas and as a result influence the policies adopted by the statutory organisations responsible.
