How does the Forum work?

The Forum meets on a regular basis to discuss issues of relevance. It agrees a common approach to tackling problems and areas of concern in order to influence decisions and bring about change. The Forum has an elected executive that looks after its day-to-day workings. This executive consists of a Chair, Vice-chair, Secretary, Assistant Secretary and PRO. This in turn is supported by staff of the Community & Enterprise Section of Limerick County Council.

The Forum has representatives on a number of bodies, such as Limerick County Development Board and Limerick County Council's Strategic Policy Committees. The Forum has also been asked to nominate members to the Regional Drugs Taskforce and the MWHB's committee dealing with the issue of violence against women. It is through membership of these bodies that the Forum can help to influence policy and decision making.
