Physical and mental health effects of drug and alcohol abuse 23rd February 2009-02-09

The Mid West Regional Drugs Task Force has invited Dr Des Corrigan, National Advisory Council on Drugs to speak on alcohol and drugs (illicit and prescribed) and their effects on the person, their families and to the wider community, on:

Monday 23rd February @ 7.30pm - 9.30pm,

Greenhills Hotel, Ennis Road, Limerick.

Dr Corrigan will cover the physical health effects and mental health effects of drugs as well providing information on the effect of different types of alcohol and the mix of these drinks. He will also talk about the increasing use of prescription drugs and self medication which is an increasing trend in the Mid West Region.

Through questions and answers, and from his presentation you can understand more about alcohol and drugs and start to consider the effect of alcohol and drugs in your life, your family life or within your community.

It is an opportunity for individuals, parents, families, schools, youth clubs, sports groups, people in community groups and management committees to understand more about alcohol and drugs and their effects.
